Nice drawing, but steampunky not so much, the key elements of steampunk are iron, coal, and steam (also fire and smoke), try merging an "old coal stove" and train engine to your design, it should be more mechanical and crude, have some pipes and stuff like that, an engine about to blow up because of the steam pressure and steam leaks everywere would be a nice touch too, also show little bumps on the metal as if it were hit by a wrench to fix it like in the old times, and because of the extra weight of the metal, a huge balloon should look more "realistic"

You'd need some kind of propulsion Also I'd make the balloon bigger and most importantly, double or triple the ropes cause it feels like if one got cut the whole ship would crash

It's a bit Final Fantasy-ish design. Looks very nice, tho the fins are a bit large for my personal taste, especially the back fin/under fin. Is the rudder there to allow it to steer in water too? One would think the tail fin would be enough, if it's only for flying in the air. I would also make a nicer, big wavy flag instead of that small golf hole-flag thingie (or some other structure) on top, as it looks slightly out of place. And maybe add some guiding light? Here is a 6 minute masking with Affinity, I'm not a hand drawer (sadly, would like to learn), so it's just to visualize what I mean. I think it's a very nice basis which you can use to design alternative versions, also very well drawn. Would love to see some more sleek/aggressive "war ship" version of your design too.

Whenever drawing something like this always make sure every little part is playing some important role in the operation of the machine or the vehicle. Don't just add fins for the sake of it, make them look like they move in a particular motion to help steer or Propel the device in a particular direction or act as a parachute in case it falls or in any other such event. Make sure that if somebody pointed to anyone part of your vehicle and asked what does this do you have an answer

I’d say you need to consider what would be contained inside the ship in terms of rooms and stuff a bit more to get the proportions and scale right. Based off the size of the windows the body of the ship seems a bit scrawny in order to be able to fit things like storage, engine rooms, commissary, sleeping quarters etc for the crew. Plus if its steampunk don’t be afraid to add a patchwork of steampunky stuff; pipes haphazardly going in and out of the body of the ship, some odd gears acting as a mechanism to control its height and direction, stuff like that. It seems a bit more fantasy atm

I really like it. If I could draw I would out try out a larger flag on top. A really large one that you could amost hear moving in the wind, that gives the whole picture a sense of motion.

May I suggest a chimney with steam, then I would draw it some old clock stuff, machinery from the industrial revolution and a powerfull way of propultion like some future/steampunk rockets, Idk xD keep drawing

Besides the fact that it's not steampunk because it's missing some key elements your lines are freaking awesome. I would make the outlines thicker, but besides that it's awesome work
