Not true. You focus only on the commercially successful and popular music. There will always be genuine and good music in the lesser popular subgenres. People are creative. They will make their own music no matter what technology can do.

Debbie Hill

yeah yeah , same as they told beatles they suck and should not even try to get an contract, same as they said that Hendrix was deaf idiot with his overjuiced amplifier making those horrible noises he called music... lol guess what? they were all wrong. In all era's of music , even classical .. were those who thought that music went to shit bin and pop is just talentless bullshit. Search for music you like , there is still a lot of great musicians...

Ashley Taggart

Any sufficiently advanced technology ... will outperform the rudimentary music standards you have

I think it's not technology, it's awful taste.

Sudath de Silva

nope, the golden age of music is over. most of the music produced today is made the way you described. art is over, at least in the mainstream.

Sharon Tribe

If you ask me, the Golden Age of music is already dead and buried. Look at the picture you used. Freddy Mercury with Queen. Now that was great music. Or just take the 70s, 80s and the 90s. Maybe even the eaely 2000s. Incredible sounds, lyrics and singers. Now look at this mainstream-bullshit of the last couple of years. Every song sounds similar, some idiots remix the classics and call that 'music'. Holy shitsnacks, even the singers look like each other. And while there are some good musicians left, they are mostly unknown to the masses. Sorry, but this had to be said.

Malinda Zaldivar

It's enrichment... today there is so many more genres than at that age... even Rome singers must have thought they was in golden age of music. but the truth is that music doesn't have golden age because it will be here as long as humans can hear

Rahman Baba

Technology only gave new tools to talented artists. Of course i'm not talking about shitty repetitive pop music here. Even if we don't count EDM and other electronic styles, musicians have more tools than ever to produce a unique sound.

Crystal Morris

No we are actually in a golden age of music, thanks to technology. First thanks to technology music of all eras have never been this much accessible to anybody, I have more easy access to non mainstream music of the 70s now than the one I would have by living during the era. Plus thanks to technology, people have more accessible ways to learn to play music or compose and diffuse. It makes music more independent of labels and radio.

Sieku Chiri Sambu

Wait but what about lil pump and all those highly "talented" artist. Music is already dying just look at these shit we got since early 2000. It got somehow worse by 2010.

Sharath Sukumar

Said by someone who has no knowledge about music. Musicians are still highly creative and make great compositions. You just dont hear it on the radio

Clara Jo

Yes, and queen was a leader in this move

Francis Soh

That's a fake quote...

Ali Moss

It already lost its soul for 90 percent

Sonja Kovacevic

70's 80's classic rock and 90's alternative is good

Sara Mae Towle

But you give us the soul that never will die

Okafor Lilian

Old gangsta rap> mumble rap.

Alanna Medlock

Correction, we WERE in the golden age but the massive use of auto-tune and time-alignement etc.. ruined it (for every kind of music)
